Created during the first half of the 1700’s by marquis Ludovico Tempi as a summer abode, it was then owned by marquis Bargagli, the ship owner Costa and the Archconfraternity of the Mercy of Siena, in gradual decline. Bought up in 1967 by commendatore Messina, active in the field of wine growing, in two generations oil and wine production recovered its initial vigour.

Now the manufacturer, a lover of the countryside ever since the was a child, due to its closeness to nature and source of genuineness, an oenologist and cultivator, planting new vines in land already sewn and with very careful selection of the product, has succeeded in creating this well balanced wine full of flavour, proposed very much to the appreciation of its consumers
