The Fattoria di Certignano produces wine in the area of Valdarno Superiore, an area evoked by the production of high quality wine since the Medicean period. It is one of the four areas of production to be found in a Medicean banishment of 1716, in witch Cosimo III de Medici closed off the areas dedicated to the production of quality wine: Valdarno Superiore, Carmignano, Pomino and Chianti.

Wine made by the Fattoria di Certignano is the result of processing of high quality grapes, according to a process that combines technology and tradition. Each stage of this production reflects the ancient Tuscan traditiona for wine. The creation of a layer on the bottom of the bottle after a long period of storage is to be considered a quality as it is proof of the genuineness of the product.

The Farm is located on the SP Setteponti, in the area of the Balze, rupestrian sculptures that mother nature created in time. The vision of the terraces touched the sensitiveness of Leonardo da Vinci so much that he included them in the landscape of his most enigmatic and admired painting: “La Gioconda”, in the Louvre museum in Paris.
